This circular outlines the revised fee schedule for granting permissions to construct temporary monsoon sheds for the financial year 2026-27. Following Municipal Resolution No. 1161, fees are increased by 10% annually every April 1st until a new policy is established. The rates are categorized into two types: subsidized rates for sheds serving residents, students, and patients where no profit is intended, and commercial rates for industrial/business storage and activities. For the 2026-27 period, residential/social shed fees are set at Rs. 85 per sq.m., while commercial storage sheds are charged at Rs. 7,950 for the first 10 sq.m. plus Rs. 810 per additional sq.m.. These rates are exclusive of applicable GST. Furthermore, the circular reiterates that failure to remove sheds after the permitted period or violation of terms will result in a penalty equal to the permission fee.
Revised rates for monsoon sheds to be effective from April 1, 2026, with a 10% increase over the previous year's fees as per Municipal Resolution 1161.

As per Resolution No. 185 dated May 10, 2002, if temporary monsoon sheds are not removed immediately after the authorized period or if any permit conditions are breached, a penalty equivalent to the original permission fee will be charged during the renewal process.
For the year 2026-27, the fee is Rs. 85 per square meter, plus applicable GST, provided there is no commercial gain or profit motive involved.
